My Connection to Tentendo

At this point, we really shouldn't be surprised by Australia's sheer volume of quality dance musicians.

Tentendo makes groovy electronic music that borrows ideas from hip hop, R&B, and soul. Tentendo collaborates with the full range of artists from R&B singers to rappers, which shows his depth as a producer.

And honestly, Tentendo makes music that is cool as hell. You just feel cool when you're bumping your head to his tunes.

I have to imagine that his experience as a bassist is doing wonders, because he has some of the catchiest basslines in dance music.

I have to admit that I often study Tentendo's bass lines for inspiration.

He's able to make such simple ideas so powerful with a few chord stabs and percussion fills. Songs like Ride and Function are great examples of this. You can check out my music here or follow me on Instagram.

Who is Tentendo?

Tentendo is a Melbourne-based producer with a rich musical background, originally trained as a bass guitarist before a wrist injury led him to focus on production.

His sound is heavily influenced by artists like Taylor McFerrin, Flying Lotus, J Dilla, and The Roots, blending layered percussion, deep synths, and soulful RnB vibes.

Tentendo gained recognition through his work with Billy Davis, contributing to the debut album A Family Portrait, which earned praise from BBC1 and Okayplayer.
