I'm Arial Ten and I wrote this because I've been heavily inspired by Young Franco's music. If you like Young Franco, you might like my warm groovy dance music.
My Connection to Young Franco
If you talk to me for more than 5 minutes about music production, you’ll be forced to hear me fawn over Australian super-producer Young Franco.
Young Franco is pretty easily my favorite producer right now, a well-deserved title given his absurdly high standard of quality.
In fact, Young Franco is the only artist whose entire discography (aside from my own) is saved in my Spotify “Liked Songs”.
Young Franco is a genre chameleon, blending the best parts of hip hop, electronic, R&B, funk, and pop. I affectionately refer to him as the “White Kaytranada”, given his amazing drums, groovy basslines, and effortlessly cool music.

To me, Young Franco’s defining trait is his elite taste, which allows him to traverse across different genres with ease.
His resume includes silky R&B bangers, hip hop anthems, popstar remixes, and video game soundtracks. He is able to extract the most out of the vocalists he works with, wrapping a variety of sounds in a pleasing dance-forward mix.

I draw direct inspiration from many of his tracks, with Juice and Girls Don’t Cry among my most frequently referenced tracks.
I also really appreciate Young Franco’s offbeat and good-natured spirit, a commonality I’ve also noticed among many Australian musicians.
