I'm Arial Ten and I wrote this because I've been heavily inspired by SG Lewis's music. If you like SG Lewis, you might like my warm groovy dance music.
My Connection to SG Lewis
SG Lewis has been in my pantheon of favorite artists for the better half of the past decade.
His Dusk/Dark/Dawn trilogy felt like it was specifically made for me, carrying with it equal parts groove and emotion. It's a delicious concoction of dance, R&B, and indie.
SG Lewis is an exceptionally good producer and has been a huge inspiration for my own musical journey.
I can't tell you the number of times I've listened to Hurting while trying to deconstruct what makes its bassline so damn good.

I think where SG Lewis particularly shines is that he's able to imbue emotion and storytelling into his music, something that most dance producers don't even attempt.
He finds a way to highlight the stories his singers want to tell without sacrificing an ounce of danceability.
In the same vein, SG is a rare dance producer who's found a way to incorporate his singing and guitar into his work.

You can tell that SG has high ambitions. He's worked with some of the greatest artists of our time in Dua Lipa and Elton John. He's started his own record label and has evolved his sound to a more classically house feel.
SG Lewis is undoubtedly one of my favorite artists of all time and he's helped me discover my own sound.
