I'm Arial Ten and I wrote this because I've been inspired by Rhye's music. If you like Rhye, you might like my warm groovy dance music.
My Connection to Rhye
I remember when Rhye dropped Woman back in 2013 and being immediately floored by how complete of an album it was. I was transitioning from my high school indie era to my post-college electronic era and realized that Rhye's sound was the exact balance I was looking for.
Rhye makes beautiful, vocal-forward music that blends electronic, R&B, and organic textures in a tactful way. Rhye has few true peers, but sonically reminds me of a Feist, James Blake, or a darker The Postal Service.
Rhye's R&B swells combined with tantalizing songwriting and easy grooves make for a novel, but classic sound.

Rhye's offbeat branding (originally leaving his gender a mystery) and uncompromising sound has inspired me to follow the beat of my own heart.
Rhye doesn't bend to different trends or release music just for the sake of it.
You get the sense that each song and project has a great deal of care. There's a sensuality and intention in each track that is difficult to feign. I wish Rhye would tour a bit more.
Who is Rhye?

Rhye is a sophisticated, R&B-inspired musical project led by Canadian singer Mike Milosh. Originally formed in Copenhagen in 2010 with Danish instrumentalist Robin Hannibal,
Rhye's music is known for its sensual and androgynous vocals, often compared to Sade and The xx. Their debut album, Woman, released in 2013, was critically acclaimed and featured the popular single "Open".
After Hannibal's departure, Milosh continued Rhye as a solo project, releasing the follow-up album Blood in 2018, which further solidified Rhye's reputation with tracks like "Taste" and "Feel Your Weight".
Rhye has also collaborated with notable artists, including Bonobo on the track "Break Apart". Though Rhye hasn't won major awards, his impact and influence in the alternative R&B and indie electronic scenes are undeniable.
