I'm Arial Ten and I wrote this because I've been inspired by Tim Atlas's music. If you like Tim Atlas, you might like my warm groovy dance music.
My Connection to Tim Atlas
Tim Atlas makes this gorgeous blend of warm R&B and instrument-forward neo-soul. He is a talented producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist.
He's got just enough tinge of psychedelia and downtempo to keep his music feeling a bit mysterious and intimate.
I've always admire him from afar as another Asian musician that sits between these different genres.

Tim Atlas is no stranger to a groovy bassline. He isn't afraid to rip a falsetto hook or pepper in interesting synth sound design.
Musically, he's a bit like Tom Misch wearing an Unknown Mortal Orchestra mask. The beat-driven sound is there, but there's alluring experimentation and darkness.

My music is a fair bit more in the house or dance direction than Tim Atlas, but dammit do I wish I had the singing chops and instrumentation to make music like him.
The little details and ear candy in his music shows how much effort he puts into each track. He's a gifted musician and I always feel motivated to pick up my guitar when I hear him play.
