I'm Arial Ten and I wrote this because I've been heavily inspired by Jamie xx's music. If you like Jamie xx, you might like my warm groovy dance music.
My Connection to Jamie xx
Is there a producer more universally respected and beloved than Jamie xx?
Yes... probably, but you have to admit that Jamie xx is still way, way up there.
Few musicians have a bag so deep that extend across multiple decades of success. Few producers hold themselves to as high a standard of quality of Jamie and can grasp the public attention as consistently.
When Jamie drops a single, the entire dance community listens. When Jamie plays a live show, DJs everywhere mine the set for inspiration.

To think that Jamie helped create downtempo darling the xx, was responsible for one of the greatest remixes of all time, and went on to define much of the indie electronic sound in the 2010s is mindboggling.
Jamie is remarkably good at sampling and producing dance bangers, but he doesn't shy away from the tender emotions found in indie music.
Jamie is perhaps the only other musician to rival Chrome Sparks' sample of Idris Muhammad's "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This", which led to him creating the gorgeous Loud Places.

Jamie xx creates sample-driven dance music in a way that truly inspires me. He's able to honor the spirit of the sampled song, but use his production mastery to create something compelling and fresh.
I genuinely love the way that Jamie can turn a simple horn riff into a dance floor classic.
Perhaps why Jamie is so beloved across different genres is because of the respect he gives to the craft. He is a certified crate digger, doesn't pander to the trends of the week, and isn't afraid to collaborate across genres.
